I was six years old, and had just moved to the United States, when Bitcoin launched; if only I knew that unimaginable wealth would appear almost out of thin air. I was 20 when OpenAI released ChatGPT; if only I knew the change the world would undergo, and more importantly, how we as people would change alongside it. I even came up with the concept for Harvey on my own in 2025; if only I knew it had already launched years prior. Each of us can point to a place in time or an event that we could have taken advantage of and used to flourish, but simply missed. Looking back, all we can say is “If Only I Knew.”

This newsletter attempts to give us what we’re all looking for: the right information at the right time. Each week I’ll cover what’s changing in law, AI, crypto, business, and whatever else seems likely to matter. But the Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and the AP already tell you what happened. My aim is different: to ask what’s at stake and what you might actually do about it. If AI is reshaping an industry, what does that mean for where you spend your time, effort, and money? Which changes happening quietly in the background are likely to last?

I am no prophet, I cannot divine, and as I am not yet licensed, nothing here is legal advice. I am but a humble and wishfully observant soon-to-be lawyer who knows that success in any game, especially the game of life, depends on 1) knowing the rules, and 2) being informed of how to play. The law, and largely our own experiences, inform the former; this weekly newsletter targets the latter.
